Stain & smell treatment
The right treatment depends on what caused the problem.
Stains and odours can come from pets, food, drink, damp, everyday use or accidents around the home. Different causes can behave very differently, which is why identifying the source can be useful before treatment begins.
Some old, severe or chemical-based stains may not fully disappear. We always advise honestly rather than promising a perfect result where that cannot be guaranteed.
Avoid aggressive scrubbing or strong household chemicals before asking for advice, as they can sometimes make treatment more difficult.

Common stain & odour issues
What can we help treat?
We work with a wide range of carpet, rug, sofa and upholstery stain and odour problems.
Fresh stain?
What should you do before we arrive?
Acting carefully can help avoid making a new stain more difficult to treat.
01
Blot rather than scrub
If the spill is fresh, gently blot excess liquid where safe rather than aggressively rubbing it into the carpet or fabric.
02
Avoid strong chemicals
Household stain removers and strong cleaning chemicals can sometimes affect colour or make later treatment more difficult.
03
Remember what caused it
If possible, tell us exactly what was spilled or what caused the mark. This can help us assess the most suitable treatment.
04
Send us a photo
Send a clear photo on WhatsApp along with what caused the stain and how long it has been there.

Stain & odour FAQs
Questions about stains, pet smells and upholstery marks.
A few of the most common questions customers ask before booking stain or odour treatment.
Can all stains be removed?
Not always. Some stains can permanently alter fibres or colour depending on what caused them, how long they have been present and the material affected. We will always advise honestly rather than guaranteeing removal.
Can you remove pet smells from carpets?
We can treat many pet-related odour issues. Severe or repeated pet urine can sometimes penetrate into underlay or flooring beneath the carpet, so we may need to inspect the affected area before advising what is realistic.
Should I try to clean the stain myself first?
Avoid hard scrubbing or using strong chemicals. These can sometimes spread the stain, affect colour or make professional treatment more difficult. For a fresh spill, gently blot excess liquid and contact us for advice.
Do you treat sofa stains?
Yes. We can inspect and treat many stains on sofas, armchairs and other suitable fabric upholstery depending on the material and what caused the stain.
Can you help with smells in rental properties?
Yes. We work with landlords, tenants and letting agents and can help with carpet and upholstery odours between tenancies where suitable.
